MILLS COUNTER OK
circa early 1920s to 1930s
These Mills machines were designed to bend gambling laws. Using a mint vendor on the side, the player would always receive a pack of mints every time they put in a nickel. This meant "you weren't really gambling" since you got something for every pull. Usually the mints were made to taste so bad that no one actually took them. This is a visually stunning machine, yet it was fairly common in bars, grocery stores, clubs and shops during the twenties.
